LEPROSY

SJJ’s activities for leprosy elimination align with the guidelines established by the National Leprosy Eradication Program (NLEP) implemented by the Government of India. SJJ addresses the issue of leprosy and its broader implications through community-based and participatory approaches.

COVID-19

Despite the reduction in outreach activities as directed by the government, our project in SJJ has continued to provide services to the public and leprosy patients. Our team has remained in constant contact with communities and other health facilities over the phone to ensure that necessary services are provided to those in need.

OUR PROJECTS

CHILD PROTECTION

In June 2010, SJJ was appointed as Missing Child Bureau-District Cell [MCB-DC] for Ramanagaram District by the Department of Women & Child Development, Govt. of Karnataka as per the Juvenile Justice [care and protection] Act 2007 for facilitating registration, tracing, and reuniting the missing and unaccompanied children.

ENVIRONMENT

The municipalities of Krishnarajapuram in Bangalore and Ramanagaram have engaged SJJ to implement the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) project on Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) in 66 wards of these towns in 2004.

DISABILITY

In 2006, SJJ initiated a pilot program focused on community-based rehabilitation (CBR) for persons with disabilities (PWD), specifically targeting the inclusive development of children and women with disabilities in select areas of Bangalore.
